Best Baby Dolls
One day your baby was chilling on an activity mat, swatting at a musical elephant. Then you blinked, and now she’s pushing her “baby” in a mini stroller around the playroom.
There’s nothing quite like a first doll… and the many others that’ll inevitably join the crew. Playing with dolls develops your tot’s creativity, fine motor skills and nurturing instincts. It even teaches (a little) responsibility. From changing diapers to reading bedtime stories, watching pretend play in action is a window into everything little ones are learning from you. (But don’t feel bad if Baby Stella gets tossed aside when your toddler is solely focused on getting to the cup of goldfish crackers.)
A helpful tip: If you ever can’t find your car keys or phone, save yourself two hours of fruitless searching and just check the baby doll’s diaper bag. We know from personal experience that there’s always something important to grownups cleverly packed with the pretend peas and carrots.

Older
toddlers will love playing with Lila Cherie, thanks to all of the
interactive features and accessories including a bib, bottle and
pacifier. She babbles, coos, sucks on her bottle, laughs and cries when
you lay her on her stomach (we get it LC, tummy time can be a drag). Her
cheeks blush, too. At 17 inches, this doll is just the right size for
big siblings adjusting to life with a new brother or sister. They can
have their own (very realistic) baby to care for alongside mom and dad.
Her cushioned body and soft vinyl skin—with Corolle’s signature light
vanilla scent—is perfect for snuggling. Lila Cherie comes dressed in
adorable PJs and a white cap. But you can purchase more outfits and
accessories from the Corolle Collection (don’t say we didn’t warn you!).
Designed in France, every kid will say “oui oui” to this classic baby
doll.
Not quite ready for all the bells and whistles? Corolle also makes a great collection of 14-inch Mon Bébé Classique dolls to care for and cuddle.

Need
a little help with bedtime? Baby Stella Sweet Dreams Doll is on it. She
has a light, soothing lavender scent (released via hug!), and
snooze-time essentials like a bottle, cozy lamb, pacifier and diaper.
The entire Baby Stella collection is soft like a stuffed animal, for
optimal cuddles. And we love how easy it is for little ones to change
her diaper and attach the magnetic pacifier and bottle. Don’t sweat it
if the paci gets lost—they sell replacements for just $6, along with tons of adorable clothing, accessories and gear. Baby Stella is the perfect first doll and first birthday gift.
The Classic
Small,
light and super snuggly, Madame Alexander My First Baby will delight
infants and toddlers. Her body is completely plush, with a face and
hands made of smooth vinyl. While you can’t change her clothes or remove
her hood, this doll is perfect for cuddling and role playing. Her thumb
even fits in her mouth. Fun fact: this brand was launched in 1923 by
Madame Beatrice Alexander. Her father owned the first “doll hospital,”
where she spent her childhood playing with dolls on the mend. When she
was 28 years old, she started her own doll company that’s still going
strong today.
